Dell has launched the new Latitude ST, expanding its range of tablets. The company claims to customize the tablet to the specific needs of the business or end user with certified applications and professional services. This ensures a safe and secure computing environment through Dell’s Flexible Data Protection and Trusted Platform Module. For example, the device is certified for use in Dell’s Connected Classroom solution for students, while to be useful for healthcare professionals, it is certified for the company’s electronic medical record and mobile clinical computing solutions. Hardware-wise, the tablet features a 10.1″ capacitive multi-touch screen and is powered by a 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 processor with 2GB RAM and up to 32GB SSD (expandable to 64128GB). A 5.0 MP 720p screen The rear camera along with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity allows for Skype video conferencing, though we haven’t figured out how you can do that with a camera that doesn’t face the screen, photo sharing, network printing, and an optional docking station.in Microsoft Windows 7 and claims a battery life of up to 6 hours with the 4-cell battery.The Dell Latitude ST is available for Rs 36,000 (plus local tax as applicable), with a warranty of 1 Year Next Business Day You can upgrade the memory to 3GB by paying an additional Rs 3,000 (plus tax), while the docking station can be purchased separately for Rs 8,000.

When asked, a spokesperson told us that “there is a compromise on compatibility with Win 8 [for Latitude ST] in the future.” Support for Windows 8 was also previously reported, around the time Dell had announced the tablet… so we expect a Windows 8 update for this tablet when Windows 8 hits retail shelves, though We are not sure if the update will be free of cost.

Dell’s new Windows 7 business tablet has arrived on Indian shores. The Latitude ST features the single core Intel Atom Z670 processor, 2 gigs of RAM, SSD storage (32GB to 128GB SSD) and, as expected, features some integration for the business ecosystem. Latitude ST has a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen layered with Corning Gorilla Glass. It comes with a stylus too. Along with the docking station, it has 3 USB 2.0 ports, one LAN, HDMI and audio out.
