Don’t wait for the perfect situation to pay off your debt

The number one reason people don’t get out of debt is because
don’t try This may apply to you. you want but never
seems to do it. You postpone it for whatever reason.

You want to wait for your life to be right before you
to make the effort. You tell yourself, when the new one comes
job, when I get the next promotion, or when I get my
next raise, I’ll get to work on my debt.

Perhaps you are waiting for some artificially fixed date. You
tell yourself that the first of the year will be a good time to start
or when you come back from vacation. Whenever it is
always in the future.

I call this “perfect situation procrastinating.” This allows
defer any action, while waiting for your situation
to be perfect. reminds me of a story I read the other day
about a mother who enrolls her daughter in kindergarten.

The mother, a school teacher, took her daughter to enroll
for kindergarten. They were received by the kindergarten.
teacher near a table outside the room. At the table that he had
some paper and pencils. The mother stepped back as the

assessment of your daughter’s abilities.

The teacher asked the boy to choose his favorite color.
crayon and write your name on one of the sheets of paper.
The mother who floated in the background knew her daughter.
could not only spell his name, but the names of all his
members of the family. She was glad her daughter did.
well.

However, the boy remained standing and stared at the pencils. Tea
the teacher again asked him to choose his favorite color and
Write your name. The boy remained motionless. his mother knew
she could do this, but stayed behind to allow the teacher
handle it. The teacher then put her arm around the girl and
told him that it was fine, that he would learn to write his name
during the school year.

As the girl and the mother rode home, the mother asked
Why didn’t she write her name? His daughter
replied, “She asked me to write my name with my
favorite color and there was no pink crayon.
The girl, quite capable of doing what was asked of her,
he didn’t because the situation wasn’t perfect.

Many times we are the same way. As you prepare to deal with your debt, do what you are capable of, without waiting for the perfect situation. While it’s important to have a plan, it’s more important to just get started. A plan can be adjusted on the fly, but if you continually adjust your start date, you’ll never put your plan into action. So start now, don’t wait for your pink pencil.
