New York City – The Big Apple is so much fun

A visit to New York City will allow you to see many of the places you have often seen on television or in the movies. From the majestic Statue of Liberty to the lush New York Botanical Garden, you’ll take home memories of wonders both natural and man-made.

Statue of Liberty – Located on Liberty Island, Lady Liberty watches over the entrance to the land of freedom and democracy.

Ellis Island – Now managed by the same entity that polices Liberty Island, Ellis Island was once the first free land that immigrants set foot on when they arrived in this country. Many visitors to the island are descendants of those early immigrants and come to the island to pay tribute to the bravery of their ancestors.

Empire State Building – All visitors to New York City must visit this towering example of amazing engineering; built in just 410 days. Visit one of the observation decks to see the full expanse of the enormous metropolis.

Madison Square Garden – The official home of four professional sports franchises, the Garden is also where many famous artists perform big concerts at this New York City landmark.

Metropolitan Museum of Art: This museum houses the largest art collection in the world, with works by artists such as Van Gogh, Monet, and Renoir. See the latest on-the-fly exhibit of what’s in town.

Rockefeller Center – This is just another of the frequently seen New York City landmarks. Home to the famous Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center is also the place where, in winter, the lights of the giant Christmas tree reflect in the eyes of skaters as they glide across the ice.

Ground Zero – September 11, 2001 created another landmark in New York City. Where the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center once stood, a Memorial is being built to honor the nearly 3,000 victims who died in this horrific attack on America.

Central Park – With 840 acres of trees, lawns, gardens, lakes, and walking trails, this is as close as some New Yorkers will ever get to the great outdoors.

New York Broadway: You can’t visit New York City and not see a Broadway show…or at least you shouldn’t. Broadway sets the standard for successful musicals and memorable productions.

New York Botanical Garden: There are more than 240 acres of flora from around the world, gardens with different themes and luxurious collections. Visit living exhibits like Daffodil Hill, the Lilac Collection, the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden, and the Bruckmann Crabapple Collection.
