New tips for puppies

Puppy training tips are mostly common sense, but it’s nice to have a few pointers. One big thing to remember here is the age of your puppy. All the training in the world won’t bring your pup down if it’s too complicated. Starting with the basics, like the puppy learning his name and responding to you. This can be done with your puppy when playing with you. Puppies are just babies, so little fun-filled play sessions work well.

As soon as possible, you’ll want to potty your pup, whatever methods you use, stay consistent. The puppy needs to go to the bathroom, at first ten times a day. As he praises him for using the correct area, he can use his name, this way he is doing both at the same time. Puppies love praise, so the more praise they receive for correct behavior, they will quickly learn that this is a great and easy way to get praise from you. Giving your new puppy lots of new situations helps him grow into a well-adjusted dog that can deal with situations as they arise. By this I don’t mean taking your pup to a busy, main road right away, but building the experience over time.

Help your puppy to deal with the different situations he may encounter. If you are likely to meet children, let’s face it in a park, eventually you will meet children. Introduce your puppy to children early on. You may have reported that you use a wheelchair, again introduce this early for the dog, this way you develop the puppy’s ability to cope. This reduces any problems you may have later on. Basic leadership work is also a good area to work on. Allow your puppy to get used to a leash and collar.

At this point, you are not expecting to work the heel, but are expecting the introduction of the collar and leash. One tip here is to have the dog on the leash while you are away and not bring the pup. Carrying your pup can become a bad habit, and if you have a big dog soon it’s something you’d rather not do. If you have a car, you should begin the puppy’s introduction to the car. Think about car safety and whether you want to use a dog seat belt or maybe a cage in the car.

Some puppies like children can get motion sickness in the car, if this happens, don’t yell or hit the puppy, he really can’t help what happened. This is why a reserved area in the car can work very well, you just have the clutter in that spot. If your pup gets car sick, he should think about shorter trips and build up trips as the dog gets used to riding in the car.

Think about your puppy and what you want from his training and then determine the program you want to follow, soon you will have a puppy training the way you want.
