5 clubs/bars to visit in Copenhagen

Today I will give you the hidden gems of Copenhagen. Cool bars and places that I recommend visiting. Who knows, you might even meet me there!

1. Meat Town
Meat-city aka. Kodbyen is the daytime go-to shopping for staples for restaurants or other food-related businesses. At night it is a social meeting point in the center of Copenhagen. There are several cool places worth checking out in Meat-town, like Karriere Bar or Jolenes for a more hippy approach. It’s a much older crowd in the 25-30s, the bar prices are average to high, and the music seems well thought out, compared to other places you might run into in Copenhagen. If you like an older crowd and a different experience then your typical nightclubs then Meat-town is not a bad place to visit.

2. Heidi’s Brewery
Heidi’s Brewery has 2 floors. Both floors have a fussball table, they offer a wide variety of different beers, so if you are a beer enthusiast you will like this place. The crowd is older, between 24 and 28 years old and they have a dance floor that is quite small but doable. It’s a dimly lit place and the waitresses are all neatly dressed in German waitress outfits. There is no entrance fee, but there is a cloakroom fee of 20kr. I usually just sneak off and drop my jacket on a table with a friend, I’m cheap.

3. Charles
Fullname Karel Van Mander is a nightclub located right next to the large Magasin shopping center and can be reached via the pedestrian street or from Kongs Nytorv Metro. Karel drives an amazing looking club with exquisite interior design and probably has the hottest girls in town, thrashing around the place. They have an outdoor area which is perfect for the summer and a good sized dance floor in the middle. The music is mainly house and dance music with a mix of today’s popular songs. The age group ranges from 18 to 25 years. However, the age requirements change from Thursday to Saturday. Unfortunately the bar prices are very high, but if you have the money to spend then you won’t look better doing it anywhere else than here. Karel can boost attracting the hottest girls in Copenhagen, so if you’re looking to hook up with a nice little turbo, look no further than here. There are a lot of turbos here. The entrance fee is around 100 dkk, but the cloakroom is free.

4. Happy Pig
The Happy Pig is located near skindergade. It has a pretty young crowd from 21 to 25 years old. It has 2 dance floors upstairs and also a live band area on the stairs, where they play live music regularly. Bar prices are quite low and people are generally quite friendly. There is a cloakroom fee of 20 dkk and it is not optional. They broadcast football matches, when there are big games on, so you might want to check it out, if you are interested in football.

5. Francis Pony
Francis Pony is a student bar, but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking in terms of style. It has a young but mature crowd that is usually between 22 and 24 and most of them are business students or something. Bar prices are average to high and it has 2 floors. There is no real dance floor, which would be impossible as the place is quite packed on the weekends. If you are a student then it is a great place to go and socialize. Free entrance and optional wardrobe. Drink prices are a bit expensive, so it’s not the best place to warm up.
