Tabs3 Cloud and How Does it Differ From the Traditional Tabs3 Software

Tabs3 cloud is a new way to access your firm’s software and data, providing many benefits that aren’t available through traditional desktop/server-based software. But before you decide to move Tabs3 to the cloud, it’s important to understand what you’re getting into and how it differs from the traditional software that your firm currently uses.

There are a number of ways that your firm can move tabs3 cloud to the cloud. The most common is to use a Virtual Desktop solution. These are sometimes called “Desktop-as-a-Service,” or DaaS, and they offer a very similar computing experience to what you’d normally find on your Windows or Apple desktop at work or home. The difference is that the Tabs3 software and all of your other applications, files and data are actually running on a remote server in the cloud instead of on each individual computer at your firm.

If you choose this option, your hosting provider will create a private cloud environment that is designed specifically for your firm. Then they’ll install your hardware and software, set up your email accounts and create the “shell” of your complete IT platform. Once that’s completed, they’ll begin the process of transferring your current technology over to the new system, piece by piece. This can take some time, but a good host will have the tools and processes in place to keep the process moving quickly for their clients.

Once your software and data are in the cloud, you’ll have access to a variety of great features that improve productivity and allow for mobile working. One of the best examples is the Tabs3 remote app, which lets you enter billable and non-billable time, fees, expenses, advances, credits, and journal entries from anywhere, even without a physical connection to your firm’s network. The information is then merged directly into your Tabs3 general ledger software.

Another great feature of Tabs3 cloud is the integration with LawPay. This allows your firm to accept eCheck and credit card payments online, reducing the need to spend time printing, folding, stuffing, stamping and mailing statements. And, with the LawPay integration, you can also shrink the amount of time that it takes to reconcile your firm’s LawPay account with your bank statements.

Lastly, your Tabs3 cloud provider will have the ability to add advanced features and functionality as your firm grows. For example, you might want to add additional user logins, integrate Tabs3 with your other legal apps or implement advanced security and backup strategies. A good provider will be able to provide you with these options and more as your firm moves to the Tabs3 cloud.
