Increase your web presence with the power of Facebook

Facebook currently has more than 750 million active users. This means that the Facebook community has more than 2.4 times the population of the United States and is growing rapidly every day. The marketing potential of this site is just amazing. If you are doing any type of online marketing for your business and you are not using Facebook, then you are missing out on thousands of potential customers.

It is very easy to start marketing on Facebook. If you already have a personal Facebook profile with a reasonable number of friends, then you already have a head start. However, for your marketing purposes, it’s generally a good idea to create a separate fan page for your business. If you use your personal profile for marketing purposes, chances are many of your Facebook friends won’t be interested in what you have to offer and may eventually “unfriend” if they feel they are being spammed. By having a separate fan page, your friends have the option to “like” your fan page or not, but you can still keep them as friends on your personal profile.

Suggesting your fan page to your friends can be a good start to building a large following on Facebook, but it shouldn’t end there. Here are some other methods to increase your Facebook fan base:

– Add a link to your fan page from your personal Facebook profile page.

– If you have followers on Twitter, you can link your Twitter account to your Facebook fan page.

– Add links to your fan page from your website and in every email you send.

– Add a Facebook “Like” button to the end of your blog posts.

– Create videos related to your niche, add them to your fan page and your website or blog.

– Use custom Facebook apps to drive people to your fan page.

– Give free gifts for becoming a fan. This could include a free report, eBook, or how-to video.

– Attract people to become fans by entering them into a drawing for a prize.

Marketing your products or services on Facebook can be very effective, but you have to be careful with your approach. Keep in mind that most people don’t visit Facebook to shop. They come to socialize and keep in touch with their friends. If you are too aggressive with your sales tactics, you may turn away some of your fans who think you are spamming them.

The best way to market on Facebook is by building the trust of your followers. Send them what they want by posting helpful information, tips, and videos on certain topics related to your niche. Be sure to respond quickly to comments and messages from your fans. They need to know that you care about their needs. Every once in a while, it’s okay to send status updates promoting a special offer or perhaps a helpful review of an affiliate product you’re marketing, but don’t be too pushy. It may help to ask yourself, “What would make you want to be a fan of your own site?”
