Setting up your Fire Stick device

Initial setup for Firestick

You need to plug the power cord into the wall outlet and the other side of the cord plugs into the Amazon Fire TV device.

You cannot connect the power cord of the fire rod to the USB port of the TV. It should be getting power from the wall outlet, not your TV. The Amazon Fire TV device connects directly to your TV’s HDMI port.

There is a Hdmi Extender that comes with the Amazon Fire Stick and its use is optional.

You should now have your amazon fire stick plugged into your TV’s hdmi port, the power cord should be connected to the fire stick while it is plugged into the wall outlet.

Switch to the correct hdmi channel on your TV and you will see the Amazon Fire TV welcome screen.

You will then need to connect to your wifi and enter your password.

Once you connect your Amazon Fire Stick to your Wi-Fi, the screen will ask for your Amazon login information.

You can register an Amazon account. Create a free account here, if you don’t already have an Amazon account.

You can use a free account or a main Amazon account. They both give you access to the home page and then you can use Kodi.

If you decide to create an Amazon account on your computer or phone, it will not ask for your credit card information.

Once you log in with your Amazon account, you will be on the Amazon home page.

Once you turn on Kodi (for the first time), let Kodi go through the process of installing your apps for at least 3-5 minutes.

After charging for the first time, it should only take a couple of minutes to charge when viewed again.

Note: Always give Kodi 2-3 minutes to load its builds before clicking any button on your Fire Stick Remote. Failure to do so can cause your Kodi to malfunction if the apps are not fully installed. After the initial setup, you should be ready to stream anything at will.
