How to Build a Great Subscription List Super Fast – Overcome the Fear of Building Your First List Today

In this article, we are going to talk about how to build a super large subscription list very fast. Now, in my opinion, list building is probably the centerpiece of the online marketing puzzle, and I dare say most active online marketers would probably agree. However, it never ceases to amaze me how many people KNOW that list building is a crucial and critically important component of building a viable online business, but…don’t do it anyway.

Do you want to know what I think it is? Fear. Honest, genuine and truly afraid of building a list. Why? Who knows, I’m not a mental health professional and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night either. But if I had to guess, I’d probably say it has something to do with his inner child being hurt. However, they are simply afraid of the perceived responsibility that comes with having a list. What I’m gonna say? What do I offer? How often do I email them? What happens if they drop out? What if I have NOTHING creative, compelling, or worth communicating?

Does that ring a bell? If so… here are some simple tips to quickly overcome list building phobia and build a MASSIVE subscription list, and fast.

Don’t you have anything worth saying? Don’t worry. Neither do half the guys who make millions of dollars a year mailing their lists. It hasn’t stopped them, and it shouldn’t stop you.

You will improve. Start with short messages, build your trust and equally important, build the trust of the people who read YOUR messages. Inspiring people is easy, and all it takes to be a great salesperson.

Borrow someone else’s sequence.. If you’re selling an affiliate product, you can ETHICALLY “borrow” the vendor sequence, freely recalibrate it to be your own… and that’s totally kosher. (remember, they want you to sell their stuff)

Put your form everywhere. Yes, on your blogs, on your squidoo pages, link to it in blog comments and forum posts, on your bike rack when you head out for a long weekend in the Hamptons. The more places people see your form, the more exponentially and explosively your list will grow.

Get Best of Breed Gifts. Just search and search for good things to give away. Search for your niche on the major engines and add “free”, “ebooks”, “pdf”, etc. Search blog directories, Twitter, etc… and have top notch free stuff to offer. Nothing will do a better job of growing your list in a quick turnaround time than free stuff, and there are plenty for EVERY market if you’re willing to look!
